Brilliant Blacklist Apps for Android
Everyone has, at one point in life, regretted giving their number to someone. While I don’t get many stalkers (actually no one has ever stalked me… somebody stalk me please), I can imagine what a headache it could be. Thankfully there are some great blacklist apps for Android that can permanently block those annoying people from your life.
Do you have a clingy ex? Or a drunk stalker? Even a very persistent toilet paper salesman would be worth downloading an app. Use one of these blacklists apps for Android and not only will you block all their calls, but you also won’t receive any texts from them.
A lot of smartphone manufacturers these days have started to provide blacklisting features in their Android skins. However, those are a hit and miss and some smartphones don’t even come with them at all. I tried to find this feature in my LG G4 but failed, and it is a relatively new smartphone with Android 6.0 on board.
But as an Android user, I don’t care if manufacturers neglect to put in this feature. We all know that the Google Play Store will have plenty of apps to block out calls and messages. Naturally, I researched and found some pretty amazing blacklist apps for Android. I tested them out thoroughly and found them to work perfectly.
Now I have blocked a lot of numbers and receive a considerably lower amount of spam messages. Thankfully, now I don’t have to wake up in the middle of the night to hear about the “termite problem” I might have.
Note: The 5 best blacklist apps for Android were tested on a Sony Xperia Z1 smartphone. The apps worked perfectly fine, and no problems were faced during testing. I was able to successfully block a contact using all of these apps. So the functionality is present in each entry of this list, the features may differ a little bit.
1. Call Blocker Free – Blacklist
Call Blocker Free – Blacklist says it all in the name, it saves you from unwanted contact with other people. The app has a well-designed interface with good color combination. Everything is readily available and the app integrated itself well with the existing ecosystem. I really like how the app shows blocked calls and messages in separate tabs.
If you have a certain number bothering you, all you need to do is add it to the blacklist and the app will automatically block it from ever showing up on your phone screen. The app is also able to detect and stop one ring phone scams that are prevalent these days. You can also add important numbers to whitelist, so they can get through every time. One good feature about this app is the notifications after it has successfully blocked a call. This allows you to know if the app is working or not.
2. Call Blocker
Call Blocker is one of the simplest apps I used during the research for this article. The simple and straightforward interface makes it easier to use as well. All you need to do is add a number to the blacklist to block it. Similarly, add the numbers you don’t want to block to the white list and that’s it. The app will be able to take care of everything else.
If you have a lot of numbers to block and a few you want to get in touch with, you can easily use the whitelist function to add the desirable numbers and the rest will be blocked off. The app also keeps a record of rejected numbers, if you want to consult them later. The app is also very light weight and reliable. As a result, it uses very little system resources and memory.
3. Calls Blacklist – Call Blocker
If you’re in the market for efficient call blocking for Android, then you should take a look at this app. With this app on your smartphone, you will be able to add in any unwanted numbers to the blacklist, and they will be blocked, effective immediately. This app is also an effective SMS Blocker and can shield you from unwanted harassment.
One great thing about this app is the scheduler. For example, if you want to sleep easily and don’t want to be disturbed by some drunk friends, then you can enable this feature. I use the feature to block out calls from my boss during the weekend; I don’t care if the office is burning I just don’t want to get annoyed on the weekend. The app also keeps a record of all the blocked calls and messages, so if you want to examine them, they are there for you to check.
The first three apps on the best blacklist apps for Android are highly efficient and reliable. I would highly advise you to try them all out to see what fits your needs. Some apps have unique aspects, but all of them are capable of blocking unwanted calls.
