The 5 Best Habit Tracking Apps for Android to Help You Stay on Track

Everyone has habits, some are good some are bad some time you may want to continue the good while phasing the bad ones from your daily routine. Doing this on your own can be a bit of a hassle; this is why we have habit tracking apps for Android that will keep you in check and allow you to maintain a healthy and positive routine.

I’m not going to say that using these apps will radically change your mindset towards exterminating harmful habits. That part will come from you and your will to change, the rest of the medial things will be taken care of by these apps.

I will clarify that I only tested these apps for what they are, not what they can achieve, as I only have fitness related harmful habits. Those are better than taken care of by calorie counter apps for Android as well as workout apps for Android.

Note: the 5 best habit tracking apps for Android were tested on a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone. The apps worked perfectly fine and there were no problems faced during the testing. Some of the features may require an active Internet connection for usage.

1. HabitBull – Habit Tracker

They say you should take the bull by the horns but here you don’t need to fight a bull to get a quality service. On this app, the bull is actually your friend and will guide you through all the hurdles that come with habit adaption or extermination.

The interface is kept very user-friendly and is easy to navigate through and everything will be set up in absolutely no time at all. One of the best things about this app is its customization; you can follow your own schedule and set up your own goals to achieve.

You can even get notified when you are required to do something important. This is one of the best apps to break bad habits as it keeps you accountable for all your actions.

2. Fabulous – Motivate Me!

I was a little skeptical about using Fabulous on this list because it is not exactly a habit tracking app. It is basically a motivation app that pushes you further to achieve your goals. Habit reversal does fall into the category of being motivated so, I decided to check it out.

The app is very well-designed and user-friendly, it had a very welcoming aura to it. Sure enough, I found out that you can easily track your habits and keep them in check with this app as well.

Not only that, you can also stay motivated to continue avoiding bad habits or keeping up with good ones with this app. Interesting thing, this app was incubated at Duke University Behavioral Economics Lab, so there are some real professionals working behind the scene.

3. HabitHub

This is another well-designed app that allows you to track your habits in a very comprehensive way. The material design has been used to good effect here and provides all the necessary information at one place.

The app comes with a fully featured calendar view so that you can track every habit and visualize everything clearly. This helps you in identifying your behavior and rectifying it in a very timely manner.

If you’re the forgetful type, the app also has a robust reminder system that will help you avoid all your bad habits and keep the good ones. Another good feature of HabitHub is its compatibility with Android wear smart watches.

4. Loop

Loop is the app you should get if you have multiple habits to reform or drop. With its beautiful minimalistic interface the app is fairly easy to use. It also comes with an advanced formal lab that calculates the strength of your habits.

Each repetition you do makes your habits stronger and any days missed will naturally make it weaker. Even though if you miss a few days from a habit, you won’t completely destroy the entire process.

Another good feature about this app is that you can see your habits being improved over time with the aid of detailed graphs. If you want to see the complete history of your habits, you can do so easily with this app, granted that you have used it during the whole process.

5. Goal Tracker & Habit List

Do you remember the Seinfeld episode where Jerry described his productivity secret? Well, I don’t and apparently, the developers of this episode took it to heart and made it into an app. Judging by the good reviews the app has gotten so far, I will say that it works fairly well.

For each day that you follow the habit or do the task, you put a big mark over the calendar. This allows you to see exactly how you are following your habits. This is a completely free app and there are no ads involved in this, not only that, I wasn’t able to find in app purchases as well which is remarkable. The app follows the standard material design and is very easy on the eyes as well.
