Android has replaced a lot of board and card games it makes sense to seek out the best party games for Android too. One of the worst things about playing actual party games is that you have to set them up physically. Whether you’re playing charade or beer pong, you’ll not only need to set it up but also clean up after everyone is done. Depending on your company, usually you’ll be left alone to clean the mess up after the guests leave. So, it makes actual sense to simply use the best party games for Android and forget about any kind of mess.
There are some Android party games that are best played on a smartphone because you need mobility and some are best played on a tablet, so that viewing is easier for all players. However, if you just have one Android device, you can surely enjoy all games without having to worry about cleaning up afterwards. As Joy of Android is a responsible publication, we do not recommend drinking with these games. We are also quite realistic so, I’m going to assume that you are going to drink while playing party games for Android and its fine too. I won’t be talking about drinking in the article though, we all know you’ll have fun however you want.
Note: The best party games for Android were tested on a Sony Xperia Z smartphone and an old 7 inch Asus tablet. The games ran fine on all devices and no problems were faced during testing.
1. Heads Up!
This is a great game to play with friends, especially when there are a bunch of them gathered. If you are familiar with Ellen DeGeneres, you may remember the famous talk show host playing this very game on her show. This is the official Android version of it from Warner Bros. You hold your smartphone to your forehead and your friends will give you hints about the movies, animals or characters displayed on the phone. All you need to do is guess the name. It is a simple, fun and easily accessible game that can be a hit on parties. You can either play with one friend or 100 at a time, which is the best thing about this. There are 18 different themed decks that you can select and each of them has multiple cards to guess. Overall, I was really impressed with the way the interface handled the cards, the physical gesture.
2. Who Can’t Draw – Party game!
This game is for 2 to 8 people and this can be a bit of a problem but it is a thoroughly enjoyable game, even for the spectators. I’m one of those guys who love to poke fun while not competing themselves and this game has a lot of fun to offer. Here is how you play the game; select a word from 9 packs, take a photo, draw the word and pass the device to the next player, and let the fun begin. Now check the result screen and vote a player who cannot draw. It is a simple and funny game that has the potential to make your party become one of the memorable ones in the long run. The game can be a bit hectic when played with 8 people but it can be just as fun if played with the right people.
3. What am I?
This is charades in its digital form and is highly accessible. There are more than 20 categories available in this game to choose from. From TV themes to songs and from cartoons to celebrities, a ton of different options are available. You can create groups and start playing within a few seconds of starting the game. Another great feature is the ability to simply select the categories you are interested in. For example, I don’t care much about Youtubers so I would simple exclude that category from the deck and start playing. There are multiple languages available to choose from as well.
4. Would You Rather?
Would You Rather is a simple game that requires little to no setup. There are hundreds of hand selected questions that you can answer solo or with a bunch of friends. This is what makes the game a joy to play. Gather around a tablet and answer the questions with your buddies and see you guys match up with the rest of the world. The app is frequently updated with more content and will keep you entertained for a long while. One great thing about the app is that there are no inappropriate questions, so kids can also have a go at it.
Conclusion:
These were a few awesome Android party games that will surely keep you and your buddies entertained for multiple parties. I certainly had a good time testing those alone, so they must be amazing when played with friends (wipes a tear).
