Crazy Taxi Hits Android for $5

Android users can now download the Open-World Dreamcast game, Crazy Taxi, on their devices. Released for the iOS in October last year, the game is now going for $5 dollars on the Google Play Store.

Crazy Taxi

Crazy Taxi is a fantastic game where you can pick up passengers and ferry them to their destination. However, unlike most ordinary cab drivers, you don’t care about the safety or comfort of your passengers. Your sole goal is to reach the destination as quickly as possible and complete as many stunts as you possibly can, including taking shortcuts, making huge jumps and speeding through traffic. If you fail to complete the trip in good time, you just don’t get paid.

The android version of Crazy Taxi features a remastered version of the 2000 dreamcast title, with original music including Bad Religion and the Offspring. If you don’t like the music, however, the app allows you to use whatever favorite tracks you have stored on your device.

Players are allowed to choose from 3, 5, or 10 minute game sessions. In the one minute arcade mode, players will try to prolong their sessions by racking up speed bonuses. The game plays well on android devices via touch or tilt controls. With a controller, however, you can enhance the play with the console experience.

Previously, android users were only able to play a semblance of Crazy Taxi via semi-clones such as ‘Crazy Taxi HD Free’ and ‘Taxi Gone Crazy’.

Although you can only access the app via Play Store as of the moment, it is scheduled to be available on the Amazon App store and Samsung Apps in a few days later during the week.
